On April 5, 2021, Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) issued a Notification regarding the change in the format of certificates for Invention patent and Petty patent to electronic format. The new certificate will have a QR code and a reference number, from which the patent owner will be able to access the electronic data of the complete specification of the Invention patent and Petty patent. This form of certificate will be issued to applicants who have paid the registration fee on or after April 19, 2021.
