Ministry of Commerce of Myanmar has issued the Notification no. 44/2022 on July 1, 2022, prescribing 19 official forms for trademark matters under Myanmar to-be-enacted new trademark law.
The forms are as follow;
- TM-1 APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF MARK
- TM-2 APPOINT OF REPRESENTATIVE
- TM-3 REQUEST FOR THE REINSTATEMENT OF AN APPLICATION
- TM-4 REQUEST FOR THE CORRECTION OF AN APPLICATION
- TM-5 REQUEST FOR THE WITHDRAW OF AN APPLICATION
- TM-6 REQUEST TO LIMIT THE LIST OF GOODS OR SERVICES CONTAINED IN AN APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION
- TM-7 REQUEST TO DIVIDE THE APPLICATION
- TM-8 OPPOSITION FOR REGISTRATION OF THE MARK
- TM-9 REQUEST TO ISSUE CERTIFIED COPIES OF THE REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE
- TM-10 REQUEST FOR AMENDMENT OF THE MARK
- TM-11 REQUEST FOR THE RENEWAL OF THE REGISTRATION OF THE MARK
- TM-12 REQUEST FOR RECORDATION OF REGISTRATION OF THE MARK
- TM-13 REQUEST FOR RECORDATION OF A LICENSE FOR REGISTERED MARK
- TM-14 REQUEST FOR CANCEL OF RECORDATION OF A LICENSE OF THE REGISTERED MARK
- TM-15 REQUEST FOR THE INVALIDATION OF A REGISTERED MARK
- TM-16 REQUEST FOR THE CANCELLATION OF A REGISTERED MARK
- TM-17 REQUEST FOR CHANGE OF THE REPRESENTATIVE
- TM-18 REQUEST FOR THE TIME EXTENSION
- TM-19 APPEAL APPLICATION

Up to date, there is no official announcement regarding the official fee, requirements and submission of each form. We will keep a close watch to any update on this matter.
Until now, the soft opening period still continues. The Office of Registry of Deeds (ORD) still accepts an application for registration of Declaration of Ownership of Trademark (DOT). We urge all the clients interested in trademark right prosecution under Myanmar new trademark law to have their DOT filed, and applications filed under the new law as soon as possible, during the soft opening, if it has not been done so. Please be sure to allow some delay due to the pandemic as well.
